Pattern Picks: Persnickety Mittens by Spilly Jane

Persnickety Mittens by SpillyJane

Now that Socktober is over, I’ve been on a quest for mitten patterns…

(Obviously, I’m disregarding the fact that it’s ‘Wovember’ and inventing my own month of ‘Mittenber’)

… and I wasn’t sure what kind of pattern I was looking for, until I stumbled on Spilly Jane’s latest masterpiece, Persnickety Mittens!

Spilly Jane is hands-down one of my favorite knitwear designers! Mittens and socks are her forte which incorporate elegant Celtic cables as well as traditional… And not so traditional fair isle. (i.e., pint glasses, owls, gnomes and yes, Buddha Machines!)

I love how there’s no limit to her imagination when it comes to finding inspiration for her patterns. According to Spilly Jane, her Persnickety Mittens were inspired by ‘tile work‘. I mean, how brilliant is that?

Bottom line: I’m smitten with these mittens and will be casting a pair on very soon!
